

Occupancy Permits are required for any Business in either
a new or existing location. These can be obtained at
City Hall. Duke Power Co. will not issue power without
our approval. The cost of the permit is $25.00.

Construction/Renovations you may need to have construction
permits. If they are required, or you think that they
might be, call City Hall between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m.
and ask to speak to the Building Inspectors.

Permanent signs require a sign permit and the approval
of the Building Inspector. The sign Installer/Manufacturer
also needs a Business License.

Two Banners per quarter are allowed and they must run
at the same time. They are good for 30 days only. They
also have to be promoting a special event. You will
need to complete an application at City Hall to be approved
by the Codes Enforcement Officer. The cost is $15.00.

Business License Fees are based on the gross receipts
of the Business. A new Business will need to estimate
how much money they think the Business will bring in
between the time you open and December 31 of the present
year. The renewal for the next year will be based on
income tax information provided to us by the business.
The City of Simpsonville has the right to audit any
questionable reporting of gross receipts at any time.
