Where can I obtain a building permit?

Building permits or other development approvals may be obtained from the Revenue Clerk at City Hall, 118 N. E. Main Street.

Where do I call to report a stray animal?

Animal Control operates under our Public Works Dept. at 110 Woodside Park Drive, Simpsonville.
You may call 967-9531 to speak with the Animal Control Officer on Monday through Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If it is a Holiday or weekend please call the Simpsonville Police Department at 967-9536 and they will be happy to assist you with the problem.

Where do I obtain a marriage license?

All marriage licenses must be obtained from the Probate Court at County Square on University Ridge in the City of Greenville. We do have two notaries at City Hall who can perform marriages once the license has been obtained. The fee for this is $25 and must be paid in advance.

Where can I find information regarding taxes on my home, business or automobile?

All taxes for the City of Simpsonville, regardless if they are personal property taxes or real estate taxes are handled by Greenville County. You should contact the Greenville County RMC Office at 467-7050.

What are the office hours for the Finance Department?

The Finance Department is located in City Hall at 118 N. E. Main Street.
The Finance Department is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

When are business licenses due?

Business license should be mailed by the end of each calendar year. License renewals are due on January 1st of each year with an automatic extension to April 15th of each year. There will be a penalty applied for all business license renewals paid after April 15th.

When does City Council meet?

City Council holds Regular meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at City Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m.   Workshop meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m.

When does the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals meet?

The Planning Commission regularly meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at City Hall, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Board of Zoning Appeals regularly meets the 2nd Thursday of each month, beginning at 7:30 p.m. If you have questions regarding a specific hearing you should call Al Spain at City Hall at 967-9526.

How can I be placed on the agenda to present an issue or concern to council at a meeting?

Any person wishing to be placed on the Agenda should contact the City Clerk, Pam Bodkins, at City Hall, 967-9526 by noon on the Tuesday prior to a scheduled meeting in which you wish to address council. If you miss that deadline you may sign up the evening of the Council meeting prior to 6:20 p.m. Sign up sheets are picked up promptly at 6:20 p.m.

Can I burn trash in my yard?

Not inside the City limits. There is a City Ordinance against any trash or yard waste burning inside the City limits of Simpsonville.

Can I bring my children to see the fire trucks and/or police cars?

Yes. Both our Police Department and Fire Department welcome any and all visitors to the stations. Please call the appropriate department to schedule a visit. The Police Department can be reached at 967-9536 and the Fire Department can be reached at 967-9545.

Will you send a fireman and a truck to my school for a demonstration?

Yes. If your school is within the fire district of Simpsonville the Fire Department will be more than happy to schedule a time to come out to your school. Contact them at 967-9545.

Do police officers visit the schools?

Yes. The Police Department has an ongoing program called "Books and Badges" where police officers come in and read and interact with a class. The Police Department will also put on other presentations and special programs upon request. Please contact Community Patrol at 967-2133 to request any additional information or to have an officer come to your school.

Do you answer fire calls outside of the City Limits?

Yes, but only within the fire district unless requested by a neighboring district to give aid.

The Police Department is located at 405 E. Curtis Street in Simpsonville.

Where is City Hall?

City Hall is located at 118 N. E. Main St. Within City Hall you will find the Finance Department, Human Resources, City Administrator, Building Inspectors, and Council Chambers.

What days are City Hall open to the public?

Normal Operating hours are: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christ-
mas Eve for 1/2 a day, Christmas Day and the first working day after Christmas Day.
